Vintage Mama Loves Rago!

Vintage fashion mama from NY, Bunny’s Victory, runs a blog to share with fellow fashionistas who adore iconic styles! Foundation garments are the key to having your vintage dress fit like a glove, but those extra layers don’t feel so great once the weather gets warmer. That’s why Bunny tried on a Rago style 1294 girdle as a breathable warm weather alternative. See what she had to say.

”I found both to be extremely comfortable but for the dress I say 100% for the Rago. I loved how much tummy support it gave me. I think there is a difference. What I loved about it also is that it felt so comfortable and it was easy to put on. It was a little tricky to get the zipper up for me, only because my hands weak. It was easy to go up and down the stairs as well. I haven’t worn it with the stockings just yet but I have a feeling I will love it even more.” – Bunny

The Vintage Doll

The gorgeous Pin Up model, The Vintage Doll, expresses her love for her newfound perfect brand of shapewear: Rago! She knows how important proper foundations are for that flawless vintage look. ;)

Read it on her blog: http://rockitroost.wordpress.com/2012/03/07/shapewear-by-rago/#more-138

“For a pin-up model, it is important to have a great line of shapewear with you at all times.

It’s like our red lipstick; we always have to have a tube somewhere. Without these items, we feel naked.

The problems with shapewear that we tend to come across are: stiffness, to coarse of fabric, not enough support, or just plain lack of sexiness. As a pinup, and just women in general, even if it is under our clothes we want it to be beautiful and sexy; it makes us feel confident.

I recently came across the shapewear line “Rago” and let me tell you, it truly is a shape wear line all women can love. I not only wore it shooting my recent spread for Lash & Ink but I also wore it under my dress at a wedding, and while out dancing all night long. It looked beautiful in my photos, slimmed and held everything in under my dress for the wedding. It was comfortable and sturdy enough to hold me in and keep up my stockings while I jived all night long (without any uncomfortable pinching, rubbing, or the garter clip unhooking).

I am a very petite woman, but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t use the perfect lines and smoothness that shapewear provides. I am also a mom, so there are always little areas that I would prefer to be smoother and supported while wearing a slim fitted garment. Rago provides a wide variety of styles, colors, and sizes for every woman with every need; in addition to the support and smoothness under one’s dress.

So whether you are a pin-up girl, a business woman, or just need a little something sassy for later, Rago shapewear has you covered.

XoXo,

The Vintage Doll”

The glamorous fashion blogger Georgina, founder of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust, made a post about her excellent experience with a Rago #1294 girdle!

Rago has been producing shapewear for fifty years and it is one of the most talked about brands put there.  They were and are an American company who paid great attention to detail when it came to crafting that perfect piece of shapewear.  They took customer feedback very seriously and based their pieces around people’s wants and needs, constantly evolving to suit them.

I have a new found love and respect for Rago.  I love the way the company has stood the test of time and I love my new silhouette.  Top marks for Rago.”

“The Rago Review: The Classic Corselette” by The Lingerie Addict

Way back in May 2008, during the very beginnings of the now leading lingerie blog “The Lingerie Addict,” Cora Harrington posted a few thoughts about Rago Shapewear titled “The Rago Review: The Classic Corselette”.

You can read her review of the style 9357 lacette corselette here: http://www.thelingerieaddict.com/2008/05/rago-review-classic-corselette.html

A corselette is a girdle dress. Imagine your favorite girdle extending from your bust to your upper thighs, hugging every inch of you all day long. If you like girdles (and if you don’t, you should), it’s a marvelous sensation. The tummy panel provides firm control, and the shaping bands on the waist, hips, and derriere all help to keep you pulled in. The lace powernet stretches to semi-sheerness once on and it looks a bit like having a floral tattoo.”

Pin Up Persuasion’s “Secret Weapon”

The blogger behind Pin Up Persuasion calls Rago Shapewear her “secret weapon” for achieving a smooth silhouette under her vintage skirt. She tried on girdle style 1294 and fell in love!

Don’t you just hate when you can see those nasty lumps and bumps when wearing wiggle style dresses or skirts? Is there a way to fake that perfect silhouette when you have a curvacious figure without sacrificing comfort? The answer is YES!!! What is this secret weapon you ask…? The Rago 1294 Open Bottom Girdle Extra Firm Shaping.”  - Jessica Meloche

Lingerie Briefs: Mad About Structure

Check out this great Lingerie Briefs article about the structures of modern shapewear! They called Rago the “Cadillac of shapewear manufacturers,” sharing how their garments comfortably contour bodies into classic silhouettes like those seen on Mad Men. The actresses wore it themselves, after all.
http://lingeriebriefs.com/2013/09/04/

“Take Rago, for instance. They’re pretty much the Cadillac of shapewear manufacturers. With decades of design experience, they’ve honed the construction of their shapewear to deliver true, consistent contouring and smoothness.” – Tomima Edmark
