Lauren knows her stuff. She’s been sewing since she was 8 years old!

“I love fashion and costume history from the 18th century until the 1950s, but the Edwardian era and 1930s are my favorites. Fashion history has been a life-long passion for me. I began sewing when I was around eight years old and started studying fashion history and collecting vintage clothing when I was around fourteen years old.”

Starter Girdles

If you’ve never worn a girdle before and would like to try it for the summer (maybe with a pair of breathable stockings), this list is great for starter pieces! They’re all comfortable, beautiful, good quality, and not too sturdy. I personally love Rago (the first one on the list!), and American Shapewear just so happens to be having a sale on their light garments!

Dressing in the ’40s

Take a peek into the 1940′s with this gorgeous YouTube video! Dressing for a night out in the 1940′s was so much more glamorous than it is today. Unless you’re a vintage fashion enthusiast, of course.
