Natalie runs a vintage fashion blog, True Confessions of a Vintage Addict, where she shares her latest glamorous finds. Recently, she gave the famously sturdy foundation garments by Rago Shapewear a try in order to slip into her cute vintage wiggle dress. She loved the way it fit after squeezing into the Rago 6207 high waist long leg shaper! The lacette material this style is made out of provides extra firm shaping, guaranteeing optimal shaping power.

“I took my measurements before and after, and this garment took 1 inch off both my waist and hips, and well as overall smoothing and some lifting of the derriere! Well they looked great, but I’d been through this before – would they stand the wearing test?? The answer is, yes!”

Vintage Mama Loves Rago!

Vintage fashion mama from NY, Bunny’s Victory, runs a blog to share with fellow fashionistas who adore iconic styles! Foundation garments are the key to having your vintage dress fit like a glove, but those extra layers don’t feel so great once the weather gets warmer. That’s why Bunny tried on a Rago style 1294 girdle as a breathable warm weather alternative. See what she had to say.

“I found both to be extremely comfortable but for the dress I say 100% for the Rago. I loved how much tummy support it gave me. I think there is a difference. What I loved about it also is that it felt so comfortable and it was easy to put on. It was a little tricky to get the zipper up for me, only because my hands weak. It was easy to go up and down the stairs as well. I haven’t worn it with the stockings just yet but I have a feeling I will love it even more.” – Bunny

Do you have any lingerie tips for my readers who want to get that perfect pin-up shilouette?
YES! Foundations! foundations! foundations! I highly recommend my BernieDexter for Lucy B. Merry Widow! It holds everything in without being as extreme as wearing a corset.  When you get comfy with the merry widow, then you can add the Bernie Dexter for Lucy B. steel-boned corset waist cintcher that will be coming soon!

Colorful Foundations

I ran across this gorgeous image of colorful bodysuits while pinning and was reminded of a great resource for vintage fashion lovers to find good quality, colorful foundations!

If you’ve got a collection of bright outfits, you should check out Orchard Corset‘s  collection of custom-dyed foundation garments. When your lingerie matches your outfits, you know you really have your style put together. They carry my favorite brands in all of the colors in the rainbow! The lingerie in the vintage illustration I found looks so similar to my beloved Rago #9357 corselette, picked up from American Shapewear (whose site just had a great makeover, see: http://www.americanshapewear.com/).
